    Love in Action DC is a growing volunteer community serving across the city, with over 1,500 people connected through our Instagram and weekly events. We host volunteer opportunities every Saturday across DC.

    Position Overview

    This is a hands-on opportunity to lead and grow the social media presence of a fast-growing DC volunteer community.

    The Social Media Lead will:

    • Run and grow our Instagram (1,500+ followers)
    • Create and post weekly content that highlights real volunteer impact
    • Capture and share what is happening at events across the city
    • Help more people discover and join volunteer opportunities
    • Engage with our online community through comments and messages

    Some content direction will be provided, but this role will also take initiative in coming up with ideas that reflect the mission and voice of Love in Action DC.

    Core Responsibilities

    Social Media & Community Engagement (Primary Focus)

    • Create 3–4 posts per week (photos, reels, captions)
    • Maintain a consistent, clean, and authentic style
    • Post and schedule content
    • Engage regularly with followers (comments, messages)
    • Help grow the page and reach more people in DC

    Content Creation (Events)

    • Capture photos and short videos at volunteer events
    • Share real moments from outreach, events, and community
    • Turn simple content into meaningful posts

    Event Promotion

    • Create simple posts to promote upcoming events
    • Help people understand how to get involved
    • Highlight impact from past events to drive interest

    Technology & Tools

    Ideal candidates should:

    • Be comfortable using tools like ChatGPT to help with captions and ideas
    • Know how to edit and refine content to match our voice
    • Be familiar with Canva or similar tools
    • Be open to learning new tools and improving over time

    Who We Are Looking For

    Ideal candidates should:

    • Be aligned with the mission of serving others and living out their faith through action
    • Be reliable and able to follow through consistently
    • Be creative but also simple and clear in communication
    • Enjoy being around people and capturing real moments
    • Be comfortable attending some Saturday events in DC

    Experience in social media, marketing, or nonprofits is helpful but not required.
