    Description

Volunteer Event Photographer for Pediatric Oncology Fundraiser

    About Camp Casco

Camp Casco provides free, medically supported summer camps and year-round programs for children and families affected by childhood cancer. Since 2014, we’ve given kids and their families a place to just be kids, make friends, and find a community that understands what they’re going through.

    The Event

Campfires & Cocktails is our camp-themed fundraiser, bringing together about 200 guests: camp families, supporters, and friends of all ages. The night includes camp-inspired activity stations, games, a photo backdrop, and a short program with remarks and a paddle raise.

    📅 Thursday, November 19 | 🕖 7-10 PM | 📍 Boston, MA

We’re looking for two volunteer photographers, one for each role below. Tell us which you’d prefer, or if you’re open to either:

    1. Role 1: Event Photographer. Capture the energy of the night: guests at the activity stations, families and kids having fun, candid moments, and the live program, including speakers and the paddle raise. These photos help us thank donors, share our story, and promote next year’s event.
    2. Role 2: Photo Station Photographer. Stay stationed at our photo backdrop and take posed group shots of guests with camp-themed props. This role suits someone who’s good at making people comfortable in front of the camera and keeping a line moving.

    What we’re looking for

    • Experience with event or portrait photography (please share a portfolio or a few sample photos)
    • Your own camera. A DSLR or mirrorless camera is preferred, and an external flash is a plus.
    • A warm, friendly presence with guests of all ages
    • Ability to deliver edited photos within a few days of the event

    Time commitment

About 3.5 hours, including arrival 30 minutes before doors open.

    Why volunteer with us

    • Your photos directly help raise funds and awareness for kids and families affected by childhood cancer
    • Photo credit on our social media and in post-event communications
    • A great portfolio piece and a fun night with a wonderful community
