    Description

Do you have a dog that is friendly to everyone? If so, consider becoming a Haven Hospice Pet Pal Volunteer. Your participation will bring smiles to our patients' faces as well as those around them.

Oftentimes, nothing brings as much joy to a patient than a devoted and loving animal who wants nothing more than a pat on the head. Interaction with animals has many positive benefits for our patients:

    • Reduced loneliness
    • Decreased anxiety
    • The ability to communicate without regard for speech or hearing deficits
    • Exercise of long/short-term memory in discussion of the visiting pet and the patient's pets
    • Increased relaxation and comfort
    • Provision of non-judgmental companionship

Apply at HavenHospice.com/Volunteer to be a Pet Pal volunteer.

*Be sure to choose only Putnam County on the application.
