Fresh Produce Pantry with GRIOT Circle in Downtown Brooklyn!
Details
Description
Join AHF Food for Health and GRIOT Circle on Monday, September 14 for a fresh fruits and vegetables pantry supporting LGBTQ+ older adults in Brooklyn! Volunteers will help with set-up, unloading and organizing fresh produce, assisting community members as they shop, keeping the pantry organized, and breaking down at the end of the event. LGBTQ+ youth and young adults are especially encouraged to join us for this opportunity to connect across generations, but volunteers of all backgrounds and ages are welcome!
Volunteer hours are approximately 9:00 AM–2:00 PM, including set-up, pantry service, and breakdown.
We provide fresh produce, breakfast/snacks, and all supplies needed for the pantry, and volunteers should bring a water bottle, comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, and be prepared to lift and carry boxes of produce and work on their feet.
Come ready to make a difference, meet your community, and help ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food!
