Thank you for your interest in joining our hospice volunteer team!

We are an in-home hospice organization, which means we provide care to patients wherever they call home. This may include a private residence, assisted living community, memory care community, or nursing home. Because our volunteers visit patients where they reside, some local travel may be required.

Hospice volunteering is a meaningful commitment, and we ask our volunteers to be available to visit their assigned patient on a weekly or biweekly basis. As a hospice volunteer, you will have the opportunity to provide companionship, conversation, and a caring presence to individuals facing a terminal illness. Sometimes simply sitting with someone, listening to their stories, or sharing a quiet moment can make a meaningful difference.

Volunteer Requirements

Before you can begin visiting patients, the following steps must be completed:

1. Volunteer Application & Background Check – Complete our volunteer application and consent to a background check. We will cover the cost of the background check.
2. TB Screening – Complete the required TB test/screening. We cover the cost for the Background check
3. Georgia-Mandated Fingerprinting – Complete the required fingerprinting. We will cover the cost.
4. Online Hospice Volunteer Training – Complete the required online training modules designed to prepare you for your role as a hospice volunteer.
5. In-Person Orientation – Attend an in-person orientation before being matched with and visiting your first patient.
