    Description

    Bereavement Volunteer

Spend some quality time with a person who had a loved one die in hospice. Watch TV or listen to music. Have a cup of coffee or watch yard monkeys (squirrels) run around trees. Be present and be yourself. By being there, you give the person a chance to feel safe and comforted and not alone.

Brighton Hospice provides special grief training using Dr. Alan Wolfelt's Companioning Model of Grief so you understand the differences between mourning (outward expression) and grieving (inward), its paradoxes, and the timeframe of grief (spoiler alert: there is no timeframe).
