    Good Works Hub is a faith-based, nonprofit association devoted to cultivating happy, healthy, and wholesome communities that are resilient, resourceful, and equitable.

    Our mission is simple yet transformative: to do good, seek justice, defend the oppressed, and remember the orphans and widows.

    The Good Works Hub serves as a collaborative center for innovation, service, and sustainability connecting partners across housing, health, environment, and social impact sectors to advance holistic community development.

    Role of the Board (Leadership Council)

    The Good Works Hub Board—formally known as the Leadership Council—acts as the organization’s advisory and strategic body, responsible for guiding Good Works’ direction, sustainability, and community engagement.

    Board members collaborate with fellow representatives to:

    • Shape and steward Good Works Hub’s mission and vision;
    • Provide strategic oversight of programs and initiatives;
    • Ensure ethical and transparent governance;
    • Strengthen organizational partnerships and fundraising efforts; and
    • Advocate for faith-inspired community development at local and regional levels.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Attend and actively participate in quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person).
    • Serve on committees or working groups as needed to advance program areas.
    • Vote on recommendations and organizational policies in accordance with bylaws.
    • Review and provide feedback on financial reports, strategic plans, and key initiatives.
    • Promote the mission of Good Works through community engagement, advocacy, and personal networks.
    • Disclose and manage conflicts of interest per the organization’s policy.

    Qualifications

    • Commitment to Good Works’ mission, values, and faith-based principles.
    • Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas: community development, social enterprise, housing, sustainability, education, or nonprofit governance.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
    • Willingness to serve a two-year term and participate in ongoing leadership development.

    Structure & Governance

    • Members serve staggered two-year terms to ensure continuity.
    • Decisions are made by majority vote, with quorum defined as a simple majority.
    • Members are expected to adhere to the Conflict of Interest and Indemnification provisions outlined in the Bylaws.
    • Recommendations for removal or appointment follow a two-thirds vote protocol.
