Volunteer with OPB! North Coast Event Assistant

Description
Help OPB bring community events to Oregon's North Coast! Join the North Coast Event Assistant volunteer team! Help greet guests, connect with community members and support day-of event logistics. Go behind the scenes and meet the team at documentary screenings, panels, musical performances, radio/podcast recordings and more.
If you live in or near Oregon's North Coast — including Astoria, Warrenton, Gearhart, Cannon Beach, Manzanita and surrounding areas — we'd love to have you join us at a future event.
- We are especially looking for
Astoria volunteers. We will be partnering on a community event in Astoria this summer!
Responsibilities:
- Greet and engage with guests
- Take tickets and/or check guest lists
- Invite guests to fill out our form and/or enter our raffle drawings
- Assist with set up/tear down
Qualifications:
- Reliable and dependable
- Friendly and welcoming
- Comfortable in a variety of social situations and like talking to lots of different people
- Flexible, think well on your feet, and perform well in stressful environments
- Willingness to communicate with OPB staff via email and in person
Commitment:
- We expect there may be approximately 1 - 3 annual event opportunities in the area
- Volunteer shifts for special events are typically 3 - 5 hours long
Training/Resources Provided:
- Training provided by Audience Development staff
- Audience Development and/or OPB staff available onsite at events to answer questions and troubleshoot issues
- Ongoing support in the form of updates and training, as needed
