    Description

Environmental Education & Garden Volunteer in two remote schools near a forest park in Northern Thailand

DEEP Association is in the early stages of planning a long-term environmental education project. We are looking for a small team of 3-4 volunteers to help us start from the ground up.

Our goal is to help our students (9-12 years old) learn basic English while reconnecting them with the nature.

In 3 years, we hope these students will be able to start meaningful environmental projects and communicate their work to international partners in English. You will be the team that helps them take those first steps.

    What you will do:

    • Help with Phonics: Teach very basic English sounds and vocabulary to enthusiastic beginners.
    • Lead hands-on activities: Lead projects like planting and maintaining a sustainable garden, rewilding a small plot on campus, and creating fun outdoor learning spaces (such as a bamboo maze). You’ll use gestures and "learning-by-doing" to communicate.
    • Share your insights: Help us note down what works best so we can further develop a "Climate CLIL" curriculum.

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree: We need this to process your paperwork, but it doesn't have to be in a specific field.
    • Passion for the Environment: You should have a sincere desire to protect nature and share that enthusiasm with children.
    • Clear English: You don't need to be a linguist or a native English speaker, but you must be a careful and accurate speaker so our students learn correctly.
    • Patience and Passion: You should enjoy being outdoors and have a calm, patient attitude toward young learners.
    • Team Spirit: You’ll be living and working with 2-3 other volunteers on the school campus.

    What we provide:

    • Accommodation: You will live right on the school campus in a remote, quiet area near Phu Langka forest park.
    • Assistant: There will be English-speaking staff to help you settle in and get familiar with the communities and the schools.
    • Visa & Work Permit Support: We will help with the administrative process and provide documents for your legal stay and work permit.
    • Project Funds: We have small funds for the garden projects.
    • Research Site: If you are a student (TESOL, Environmental Education, etc.), we are happy for you to use this as a field site for your research.
