    Description

    Volunteer for Smithsonian Sleepovers at the Natural History Museum and American History Museum!

    Smithsonian Associates is excited to announce that we will be holding Smithsonian Sleepovers at the Natural History Museum and National Museum of American History this summer and are in the need of volunteers to help with these events. Volunteers will have fun as an Activities Leader at this scavenger-hunt-style event. With a fellow volunteer, they will facilitate a game, craft, relay race or another creative activity at a stop along the route. Orientation is provided. The participants are 8 - 14 years old and their chaperoning adults.

    What You'll Do:

      • Co-Lead Exciting Activities: Guide kids through thrilling games, puzzles, crafts, and challenges across various museum halls.
      • Make a Difference: Help children learn about multiple parts fascinating history with in America and our Natural world
      • Assist in Scavenger Hunts: Facilitate educational scavenger hunts where young minds will explore the museum in search of knowledge and fun!

    Volunteer Duties Include:

      • Setting up activity stations and supplies (lifting up to 10 lbs)
      • Leading games, crafts, and educational demonstrations
      • Assisting with scavenger hunts and other learning activities
      • Cleaning up and loading out activities at the end of the night (around 11pm)
      • Flexibility for last-minute changes and assignments
