    Description

Group Volunteering - Sort, Stamp and Pack Free Books for Kids

The mission of Brooklyn Book Bodega is to increase the number of 100+ book homes for kids 0-18 in NYC. Research shows that kids who read have stronger vocabulary, do better in school, and have more opportunities in life. We provide access to and ownership of children’s books, build community, and create a passion for learning through free events and literacy-based community programming.

Join us at our Book Hub at the Brooklyn Navy Yard to spend a few hours helping us stamp and sort books that will be distributed to kids across New York City. Our volunteering sessions are welcoming to all, as well as a great way to meet people and connect with others that love reading.

Volunteers 18+ welcome and ages 13-17 with guardian consent. For individual volunteering opportunities, learn more here.

We also welcome group volunteering (a group is considered 5+ people who are volunteering together from their company, organization, school, club, network). If you are interested in group volunteering, complete the interest form to get started.

Reach out to info@brooklynbookbodega.org with any questions.

Prior group volunteers include: Centerfield, Charterworks, Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, ECCO Shoes, Fanatics, Huron Consulting, Mercer, New York Community Investment Council at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, NYU Tandem School of Engineering, Partisan Records, Redesign Health, Ripple, Smart Design, Street Diligence, Thornton Tomasetti.
