    Description

    Technical Qualifications

    • Core Web Technologies: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build, troubleshoot, or maintain the organization's public-facing digital presence.
    • CMS Management: Experience working with Content Management Systems (Wix is our platform for the website) to structure sites so non-technical staff can easily update event calendars and resources.
    • Responsive & Accessible Design: Ability to design mobile-friendly interfaces that meet basic WCAG accessibility standards, ensuring digital resources are easily navigable for all students and families.
    • Version Control: Basic knowledge of Slack to track code changes and collaborate with other technical volunteers or mentors.

    Role Requirements & Logistics

    • Time Commitment: Typically 3–5 hours per week on a recurring basis. Work is highly flexible and remotely
    • Youth Safety Clearances: Mandatory background screenings (such as a CORI check in Massachusetts) prior to onboarding, as the organization directly serves minors.
    • Mentorship Capacity: An ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple language. Volunteers may occasionally be asked to demonstrate web development basics during STEM workshops for students.
    • Mission Alignment: A demonstrated passion for youth development, educational equity, and expanding access to technology careers for underserved communities
