    Description

No Barriers Education is an early-stage nonprofit focused on increasing post-secondary pathway literacy for high school students. We build infrastructure that helps students navigate college, vocational programs, certificates, apprenticeships, military options, and workforce pathways, while also helping schools better understand the barriers their students face when planning for life after graduation. As we continue to grow, we are looking for someone who can help us explore and pursue funding opportunities that will allow this work to scale.

We are seeking a Grant Writer or Grant Strategist who is interested in supporting an early-stage organization by helping identify, shape, and pursue grant opportunities aligned with our mission. This role is intentionally flexible and strategic. It is less about high-volume writing and more about helping us understand where funding exists, how we position ourselves, and how we build a sustainable pipeline of support over time.

The person in this role would help research relevant grants in education, workforce development, youth access, and related sectors, and support the development and refinement of proposals that clearly communicate our work and impact. They would also help us think through how to strengthen our funding language, and build a long-term strategy around grants as one piece of our broader sustainability model.

This role is best suited for someone who cares deeply about education access and is comfortable working in an early-stage environment where structure is still forming. Experience with grant writing, nonprofit development, research, or fundraising is helpful but not required. What matters most is strong writing, curiosity, and an interest in helping build something from the ground up.

Because we are still in the early stages of development, this is currently a volunteer role with a light and flexible time commitment. Our employees and interns work no more than 1-3 hours a week.
