    Organization: Children Across America

    Commitment: Flexible / Project-Based

    About Children Across America

Children Across America is a nonprofit organization working to expand access to STEM and literacy education for children ages 4–11. Through programs such as our Saturday STREAM program and Girls Love to Code, we provide hands-on learning experiences that build confidence, creativity, and technical skills in young learners.

This project helps support programs like Girls Love to Code, which introduces girls ages 4–11 to coding, robotics, and technology.

We are seeking a volunteer web developer to help improve our website functionality, particularly focusing on mobile usability and donation experience.

Many supporters visit nonprofit websites on their phones. Improving our mobile performance will help more families access our programs and help donors support our work.

    What You’ll Do

    • Improve mobile performance and responsiveness across our website
    • Optimize donation and sign-up pages for mobile users
    • Help integrate or improve online donation tools
    • Improve page speed and usability
    • Assist with technical improvements to support growth

    Helpful Skills

    • Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
    • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
    • Familiarity with payment integrations or donation tools
    • Experience improving mobile performance and accessibility

    Why This Role Matters

Small improvements to nonprofit websites can dramatically increase donations and program participation. Your technical skills will help more children access STEM education and programs like Girls Love to Code.

Students, junior developers, and experienced developers looking to give back are all encouraged to apply.
