Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for terminally ill patients and their families. All volunteers receive specialized training and ongoing support and are an integral part of the hospice team of caregivers.
Help make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families!
On your own time. In your own way. With your special skills. Help to make every moment matter.
We are looking for volunteers to provide vigil visits to patients on our care.
As an overnight vigil volunteer, you will provide 11th hour support to patients who are actively dying (in the last 24-48 hours of life.) An overnight vigil volunteer provides support for the patient to relieve anxiety and agitation by knowing someone is with them. It also provides comfort to family and friends of the patient who needs to go home to take care of their families, need a good nights sleep, or cannot be with their loved one for other reasons.
Clients are located in various settings: Nursing homes, Assisted livings and even their own home. We will ask you to provide a vigil visit to patients within your service area.
Volunteers will be required to pass a background check, drug test and have a recent physical.
