    Description

Athena Home Health and Hospice is seeking military veteran volunteers to provide companionship to our veteran patients, families, and the community they live in. In addition to the many ways our volunteers support our patients, veteran volunteers are able to understand the unique experiences and challenges that face our veteran patient as they proceed through their end of life care.

Veteran volunteers may lead veteran discussion groups, offer one-on-one support, sharing memories, playing cards, helping to write letters, watching TV, or just being a comforting presence to those in need.

Athena Hospice is not about giving up on life; It is about hope for people facing a life-limiting illness - hope of living their lives free from pain, without fear and in the company of family and friends. Help us ensure that our patients and our veterans are receiving the best services we can offer!
