The Youth Mentorship program matches a mentor with a client between the ages of 15-24 for a minimum period of 6 months. After interviewing with the Youth Development Specialist, you will be matched with a refugee mentee with similar interests and skills. You will meet with your mentee weekly to work on the goals they have set for themselves, which may include educational, career, social, and cultural support. Common goals include English conversation practice, computer literacy, college/technical school information, applying for jobs, exploring the resources in Covington and Cincinnati, and learning about American culture through field trips and activities. Mentors are invited to participate in group field trips and events hosted by KRM throughout the year. Experience working with youth or international populations preferred, but all are welcome to apply. Second language not required. Contact mmasih@kyrm.org for questions.
