    Description

WordPress Content Coordinator for Ocean Conservation - Looking for a "Swhale" WordPress Team Member

    We otter update our website.

The Sea Save Foundation is an internationally recognized ocean conservation nonprofit dedicated to protecting marine wildlife and advancing science-based conservation policy around the world. Our website serves as our public face, helping connect supporters, donors, journalists, policymakers, and ocean lovers to our work.

Like many nonprofits, we have more important work than hours in the day. We need a WordPress-savvy team member who can help us keep our website current, accurate, and professional.

Think of yourself as the octopus with many arms quietly helping keep things organized behind the scenes.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys maintaining and improving content rather than rebuilding websites from scratch.

    What We Need Help With

    • Updating sponsor and partner listings
    • Adding new team members, volunteers, and advisors
    • Revising campaign and project information
    • Correcting outdated information
    • Posting occasional new content
    • Reviewing plugins and helping us safely update, replace, or retire them over time
    • Helping ensure our website remains healthy, stable, and secure

    A Very Important Note

This is not a redesign project.

We know there are opportunities to modernize the site.

We know there are probably better themes.

We know there are things you would do differently.

And one day we will tackle those projects.

But today is not that day.

Sea Save recently lost its office and many organizational resources. Our leadership team is currently focused on rebuilding while continuing our conservation work around the world.

Major website redesigns require content reviews, strategic planning, leadership oversight, and significant organizational bandwidth. We simply are not ready to undertake that process yet.

What we need right now is someone who can help us keep our existing website current, accurate, functional, and professional while we navigate this transitional period.

The ideal candidate understands that sometimes the most valuable contribution is not rebuilding the ship—it is helping keep it sailing.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

    • Have experience with WordPress
    • Understand plugins and website maintenance
    • Enjoy solving practical problems
    • Are collaborative and patient
    • Can implement requested updates without needing to redesign the entire site
    • Care about conservation, oceans, wildlife, or nonprofit work

    What You'll Gain

    • The opportunity to support meaningful ocean conservation efforts
    • Collaboration with a passionate international team
    • A chance to apply your skills to a mission that matters
    • The satisfaction of helping protect the oceans while ensuring Sea Save presents its best face to the world

If you're looking for a way to use your WordPress skills for something bigger than a website, we'd love to hear from you.
