Rural Smiles Foundation is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills, expertise, and leadership to an organization dedicated to promoting human rights, advancing civic space, empowering women and youth, and improving health and wellbeing in rural Uganda.
About Us
Rural Smiles Foundation is a youth-led, community-based non-profit organization working to create lasting change in rural communities through advocacy, service delivery, empowerment, and innovation. Our programs address gender equality, civic engagement, health, education, renewable energy, and social justice.
Role of Board Members
As a volunteer board member, you will:
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight of Rural Smiles Foundation’s programs and policies.
- Support fundraising, partnerships, and resource mobilization.
- Ensure accountability, transparency, and good governance.
- Serve as an ambassador for Rural Smiles Foundation, representing our mission and values.
- Commit to attending quarterly board meetings (virtual).
Who We Are Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals with experience in any of the following areas:
- Non-profit governance & leadership
- Legal affairs and policy advocacy
- Finance, audit, and risk management
- Fundraising and donor engagement
- Communications, media & public relations
- Gender equality, human rights, and social justice
- Health, education, and community development
- Technology, innovation, and digital transformation
Eligibility:
- Open to Ugandans and international applicants.
- Must demonstrate commitment to RSF’s mission and values.
- Previous board or leadership experience is an added advantage.
Time Commitment
- Minimum 4-6 hours per month (virtual, plus committee work).
- Board term: 3 years, renewable based on performance.
