🌿 ABL Hospice Volunteer Opportunity – Santa Clara County

ABL Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support to patients facing life-limiting illnesses throughout Alameda County.

No experience required. Training and ongoing support are provided. Your time, kindness, and presence make a meaningful difference.

Volunteer Roles Include:

• Bedside companionship
• Emotional support and listening
• Reading, music, and conversation
• Life Review assistance
• Caregiver respite visits
• Light, non-clinical household tasks
• Certified pet therapy (if applicable)

Volunteers do not provide medical or personal care.

Administrative & Creative Roles:

• Filing, phones, computer support
• Preparing newsletters and sympathy cards
• Handmade comfort items (blankets, cards, etc.)
• Sharing music in facilities

✔ Mileage reimbursement

✔ Remote interviews

Requirements:

• Admin volunteers: 16+
• Patient volunteers: 18+
• Background check & drug screening
• Valid CA ID/Driver’s License
• Proof of auto insurance
• Current TB test (provided at no cost)
