Stoop Stories connects New York City neighbors across generations and differences to reduce loneliness and increase compassion and joy. Through documentary stories and community events, we celebrate stoop culture and highlight underrepresented communities.

Who we're looking for:
A skilled newsletter writer and Mailchimp newsletter manager to help us strengthen and grow our email communications. We're looking for someone who can evaluate our current newsletter, recommend improvements based on e-marketing best practices, and create engaging newsletters that increase open rates, click-throughs, and audience engagement. Ideally, this person can help establish a sustainable process by documenting workflows or training a team member to continue the work over time.
The ideal candidate has:
- Experience with Mailchimp or a similar email marketing platform
- Strong writing, editing, and copywriting skills
- Knowledge of e-marketing best practices, including audience engagement and performance optimization
- An eye for clean, compelling design and layout
- Ability to analyze email performance metrics and make data-informed recommendations
- Comfort collaborating remotely with a small, growing nonprofit team
Project Scope & Deliverables:
- Assess our current newsletter strategy, content, design, and performance
- Recommend and implement improvements to increase engagement, open rates, and click-through rates
- Refresh the newsletter layout, copy, and visual design as needed
- Write, design, and produce ongoing newsletters in Mailchimp and/or develop a sustainable newsletter workflow and train a team member or volunteer to manage future newsletters.
