    Description

    Hospice Memory Bear Maker Volunteer

    Location: Remote / Home-Based

    Time Commitment: Flexible | Self-Directed

    Role Overview:

    The Memory Bear Maker Volunteer creates handmade keepsake bears using clothing or fabric provided by hospice families. These bears serve as deeply meaningful mementos honoring a loved one and supporting families in their grief journey.

    Volunteer Responsibilities:

      • Sew memory bears from donated clothing or fabric
      • Communicate occasionally with hospice staff regarding supply needs
      • Work independently from home at your own pace
      • Return completed bears to the hospice office as arranged

    This Role Is Perfect For Someone Who:

      • Enjoys sewing, crafting, or quilting
      • Prefers quiet, behind-the-scenes service
      • Wants meaningful impact without patient interaction

    Flexibility & Autonomy:

      • Completely self-paced and home-based
      • No set schedule or weekly commitment
      • Volunteers accept projects as they are available

    Annual Volunteer Requirements (Required for All Hospice Volunteers):

      • Background check
      • Annual volunteer orientation & training
      • HIPAA & safety compliance modules
