Desired Qualifications: Ability to work with minimal supervision and genuine interest in native plants.
Description
Responsibilities: Organize and maintain the native plant propagation area at Rider Park. Duties will change based on the season.
- April-May duties could include planting, mulching, fencing new seedlings, replacing old tree shelters and stakes.
- Jun-August will focus more on invasive plant management, identification, constructing propagation beds or boxes, and perhaps mapping invasive plant stands or areas to restore.
- September-October will focus on collecting seeds, placing seeds in the propagation beds or boxes, and healing the propagation area in with a thick layer of mulch for the winter.
Requirements: Wear hiking boots that have ankle support, wear work gloves, bring extra layers to keep warm while outside, and provide a water bottle.
