Volunteer Board Opportunity: CPA Board Member

D House of Angels is seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our Board of Directors. The CPA Board Member will play a key role in providing financial oversight, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and supporting the strategic growth of our organization. This is an exciting opportunity to use your professional expertise to make a lasting impact on families and individuals overcoming domestic violence and homelessness.

Responsibilities:

• Review and provide guidance on budgets, financial reports, and audits
• Oversee and ensure compliance with financial best practices and nonprofit standards
• Support financial planning and sustainability strategies
• Collaborate with other board members to develop and monitor the organization’s goals and initiatives
• Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director on financial matters
• Participate in board meetings, committees, and fundraising initiatives

Qualifications:

• Active CPA license (required)
• Experience in nonprofit accounting, financial management, or auditing preferred
• Strong understanding of 501(c)(3) financial compliance
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to the mission of helping survivors and strengthening families in crisis
