    Description

The Vice President of the Board of Directors serves as a senior volunteer leader of Tiny Hearts of America (THA) and works closely with the Founder/President and fellow Board members to support the organization’s mission, governance, strategic direction, and continued growth.

As of right now, this is a non-paid, voluntary position. Serving in this role does not create an employment relationship or guarantee future compensation. As THA continues to grow, the Board may review compensation or reimbursement policies in accordance with applicable laws, organizational bylaws, and available funding.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the Founder/President in carrying out the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Tiny Hearts of America.
    • Assist with Board leadership, governance, organizational planning, and oversight.
    • Preside over Board meetings when the President is unavailable or when authorized to do so.
    • Work collaboratively with Board members, organizational leadership, program teams, and volunteers.
    • Help ensure Board decisions, policies, resolutions, and organizational standards are properly followed.
    • Participate in the development and review of THA’s strategic plans, annual goals, programs, partnerships, and expansion efforts.
    • Provide leadership and guidance during organizational challenges, transitions, or special projects.
    • Support the development of community, nonprofit, corporate, and governmental partnerships when appropriate.
    • Review organizational reports and help monitor the effectiveness of THA’s programs and initiatives.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive Board, organizational, donor, volunteer, and client information.
    • Disclose potential conflicts of interest and follow THA’s bylaws, Code of Ethics, Conflict of Interest Policy, and other governance policies.
    • Attend regular Board meetings and participate in special or emergency meetings when reasonably available.
    • Serve as an ambassador for THA and represent the organization professionally and respectfully within the community.

    Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, professionalism, integrity, communication skills, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to serving children, families, and communities. Previous nonprofit, business, community leadership, education, healthcare, finance, government, social services, or Board experience is welcomed but not necessarily required.

    Our Mission

The Vice President should be committed to advancing Tiny Hearts of America’s belief that “Every Child Matters, Every Heart Counts.” The individual selected for this position should be prepared to help THA strengthen its governance, expand its community impact, develop sustainable partnerships, and responsibly guide the organization as it continues to grow throughout South Carolina.
