    Description

We are in need of an Event Tabling Volunteer, whose primary role is to identify events, recruit other volunteers and attend events when possible. This key role would identify and attend community events, festivals, or markets to raise awareness, distribute informational materials, and recruit new supporters. Tasks would include recruitment and training of volunteers to staff these events. Attendance at events while recruiting dependable volunteers within the Chapter. The geographic area of focus is primarily Albuquerque, but also assists in scouting events in Santa Fe. If interested in volunteering, please contact Nina Freer, Chapter Coordinator: nina.freer@sierraclub.org or call the office if you have any questions. Chapter office number: 505-243-7767. Full volunteer job description available upon interest.

Please reach out if you would want a smaller role in attending the community events and staffing the tables. We would train you regarding what to say to the public. If you are only available to assist in researching opportunities for tabling, we want you! The full role is preferable but will work with someone who can only help in a partial commitment. Some events require children's activities and we try to provide environmental education opportunities at these functions. Also, we are seeking those with environmental knowledge to lead such activities (desired but not required). We seek out family friendly events and those that have a specific target of environmental issues. Help us expand our community partnerships and presence to promote environmental sustainability and protection of wildlands.

Some events may be outside of Albuquerque at a nature reserve. We would appreciate someone who lives in New Mexico so they can onboard other volunteers, be available to staff local tabling events and is familiar with the local community scene for partnerships and events. If you are only available to help with seeking opportunities and available for online research, we are more flexible with your location but do wish that you have a background living here at one point and wish to continue supporting New Mexico. ie. student away out of state for college or someone who recently moved away.
