Role:
Provide companionship, socialization and support (in home and/or facility setting).
Examples may include: empathetic listening, light conversation, reading aloud, listening to music, taking walks, watching sports/fav show, playing games, writing letters, participating in group activities with other residents - or simply sitting and providing a reassuring presence.
note: volunteers do not to provide physical aid or medical treatment of any kind
Requirements, Training and Support:
Volunteers complete initial onboarding paperwork, training, fingerprinting and TB testing with continued support moving forward. Must be 18+.
Time Commitment:
Hospice volunteering offers flexible hours depending on your availability (some commit to several hours/week, other just a few hours/month).
We also have opportunities for respite care for caregivers, music therapy, certified pet therapy, and veteran to veteran volunteering if you know of others that may be interested!
