Description
The Concord Library is currently recruiting Summer Reading Teen Volunteers to assist staff with their annual Summer Reading program. This is a great opportunity for busy students to get community service credit in the summer and serve their community.
Dates: A variety of shifts available Monday-Saturday from June 1-August 1. One to two 2-hour shifts per week (maximum of 4 hours per week).
Duties:
- Explain Summer Reading to participants
- Help the Library staff with record keeping
- Assist with special events and story times
- Help prepare crafts
- Track supplies and prizes
- Award prizes to participants as they progress through the program
Qualifications:
- Teen entering 8th grade – 12th grade
- Enjoy libraries and books
- Ability to give enthusiastic customer service
- Ability to give information and directions to children and adults
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to take directions and follow them accurately
- Dependable
- Keep accurate records
