    Position Summary

    The Employment Law Intern participates in a structured, hands-on learning experience focused on employment law concepts, workplace compliance, and legal research within a supervised program environment.

    This role provides exposure to employment law principles, policy development, compliance considerations, and legal documentation practices in support of HR and organizational processes.

    Participants may engage at different levels within this role based on the program’s tiered structure (Foundational, Intermediate, Advanced), depending on prior experience, engagement, and program needs.

    Learning Focus Areas

    Participants in this role will gain exposure to:

    • Employment law concepts and workplace compliance principles
    • HR-related legal documentation and policy development
    • Regulatory frameworks related to labor and employment
    • Legal research and analysis methods
    • Ethical and confidentiality standards in workplace legal matters

    Program Activities

    Participants may engage in:

    • Assisting with research on employment laws and regulatory updates
    • Supporting review of workplace policies and procedures (for learning purposes)
    • Assisting with the organization of compliance-related documentation
    • Participating in the preparation of summaries or educational materials on HR/legal topics
    • Observing discussions related to workplace compliance and legal considerations
    • Collaborating with HR and administrative teams on policy-related projects
    • Communicating questions or observations to program leadership

    All activities are conducted within a supervised and guided learning environment.

    Legal Scope Limitation

    Participants in this role:

    • Do not provide legal advice
    • Do not represent clients or the organization in legal matters
    • Do not make legal determinations or decisions

    All activities are educational in nature and conducted under supervision.

    Participation Expectations

    • Engage consistently in program activities and sessions
    • Maintain communication with program coordinators and leadership
    • Participate in a structured learning environment

    Qualifications

    Education / Background

    Candidates may include:

    • Students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals
    • Individuals pursuing or interested in law, public policy, or Human Resources
    • Individuals seeking exposure to employment law and compliance
