    HR Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join MB Mentors, a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer non-profit organization. Our mission is to advise, support, and empower entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Minnesota business community by providing our skills, experiences, and knowledge—mostly at no cost.

This is a volunteer position vital to maintaining the high quality and commitment of our team. The primary focus of this role is to manage the initial stages of the volunteer recruitment and onboarding process.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Application Review: Review volunteer applications, resumes, and relevant materials to identify suitable candidates for mentoring and facilitator roles.
    • Volunteer Interviewing: Conduct initial interviews with prospective volunteers to assess their skills, experience, alignment with MB Mentors' mission, and commitment level.
    • Coordination: Schedule and manage interview times with candidates and relevant internal stakeholders (when necessary).
    • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for new volunteer applicants, providing timely updates on their application status and answering initial questions.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records of all volunteer applications, interview notes, and onboarding progress.
    • Process Improvement: Offer recommendations to refine the volunteer recruitment and interview process to enhance efficiency and candidate experience.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Experience: Previous experience in Human Resources, recruiting, interviewing, or a similar role is preferred.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish rapport quickly and conduct professional, engaging interviews.
    • Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple applications and communication threads simultaneously.
    • Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for the mission of MB Mentors—supporting and empowering small business owners and entrepreneurs.
    • Professionalism: High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
    • Technology Proficiency: Comfort with standard digital communication tools (email, video conferencing) and basic database/spreadsheet management.

    Why Volunteer with MBMentors?

    • Impact: Directly contribute to the growth and success of the Minnesota small business community.
    • Networking: Join a diverse, experienced team of professionals driven by a desire to give back.
    • Flexibility: This volunteer role offers flexible hours that can be managed remotely, accommodating other professional and personal commitments.

If you are passionate about HR, supporting community initiatives, and helping build a strong team of dedicated volunteers, we encourage you to apply!
