Project Purple Hartford Marathon Race Weekend!

1.) Volunteer Activity Information:

Event info: Eversource Hartford Marathon & Half Marathon, Team 26.2 Relay and Charity 5K

Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026

Official Charity: Project Purple to provide a total of 20 volunteers as a SILVER level Official Charity

2.) Volunteer Activity – East Hartford (North) & South Windsor: AM Course Monitors (9 volunteers)

Time: 7:30am-11:00am

Description: Direct and cheer runners on the race course

Location: race course intersections in northern East Hartford neighborhoods and southern South Windsor

Check in Location: McAuliffe Park, 30 Remington Road, East Hartford

3.) Volunteer Activity – East Hartford (North & South Windsor): PM Course Monitors (9 volunteers)

Time: 10:30am-1:30pm

Description: Direct and cheer runners on the race course

Location: race course intersections in northern East Hartford neighborhoods and southern South Windsor

Check in Location: McAuliffe Park, 30 Remington Road, East Hartford

4.) Volunteer Activity – Baggage (2 volunteers)

Time: 5:30am-9:30am

Description: collect and store runner baggage and then return items post-race

Location: Bushnell Performing Arts Center, 166 Capitol Avenue, Hartford

Check in Location: Volunteer Tent, Bushnell Park, Hartford

Volunteer General Information:

Volunteer Registration Checkpoints: The goal is to have 10 of your 20 volunteers registered by Monday, August 24th and all 20 volunteers must be registered by Friday, September 25th.

To be eligible for a Charity Village Tent/Table your charity must have registered 16 of its 20 required volunteers by Friday, September 25, 2026.

I will send you lists of all your registered volunteers shortly after those deadlines.

If you wish to have volunteer reports at any other times please reach out to me and I will be happy to provide it.

1. Volunteer Amenities: Custom zippered jacket in unisex sizes. Breakfast, coffee and water will be provided to the morning volunteers, and lunch will be provided to the afternoon volunteers. All Course Monitor volunteers earn $10 off a future HMF Event or online Merchandise. Baggage volunteers earn $5 off a future HMF Event or online merchandise. These credits can be transferred to friends and family members. To redeem send an email to: nancy@hartfordmarathon.com.

1. Volunteer Communications: All volunteers will receive a Volunteer Registration Confirmation email after registering and a Volunteer Information email (including Parking info) 3-4 days before the event.

1. Age Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. However for Baggage we are open to 14-15 year old high school students who are mature, self-directed workers. Contact me if you have any 14-15 year old volunteers so I can complete their volunteer registrations – the system will not accept registrations for any under 16 unless I override it.

3. Continue to the Dashboard.
4. Then, select “Events” from the left side of the screen.
5. For Course Monitors – Select “Eversource Hartford Marathon: Course Activities.

For Baggage - Select “Eversource Hartford Marathon: Bushnell Park Activities”.

1. Select “HMF Waiver” on the Right Side of the screen and “Submit” when prompted.
2. Then, select “Apply to Shifts” from the center of the screen.
3. For Course Monitors - Find “ East Hartford (North) & South Windsor: AM Course Monitors” (7:30am-11:00am) OR "East Hartford (North) & South Windsor: PM Course Monitors" (10:30am-1:30pm) and click on "Select this Shift" to the right of it.

For Baggage – Find “Baggage Check (1st shift)” (5:30am-9:30am) and click on "Select this Shift" to the right of it.

Then Click on “Apply to Selected Shifts” in the top Right corner.
