    The Grandparents Community Network (TGCN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting grandparents raising their grandchildren. Our mission is to advocate for, empower, and celebrate this unique community through education, resources, and partnerships.

    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grant Writer / Fund Development Specialist to secure financial resources and build meaningful relationships that will sustain and grow TGCN’s mission. This role combines grant writing with active engagement in donor relations and advocacy, making it ideal for someone passionate about using their skills to make a real difference.

    Responsibilities:

    Grant Research and Identification:

    Identify and research grant opportunities that align with TGCN’s mission.

    Stay informed on funding trends and potential new opportunities.

    Proposal Development and Submission:

    Write, edit, and submit high-quality, tailored grant proposals and applications.

    Ensure all proposals align with funder guidelines and mission priorities.

    Donor Engagement and Advocacy:

    Attend meetings with potential donors and funding organizations to present TGCN’s mission and initiatives.

    Act as a spokesperson for TGCN, advocating for grandparents raising grandchildren and highlighting the importance of our work:

    Collaboration and Partnership Development:

    Work closely with TGCN’s Board of Directors, leadership team, and partners to create collaborative strategies for increasing funding.

    Represent TGCN at community meetings, events, and networking opportunities.

    Relationship Building and Stewardship:

    Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders to increase existing funding streams.

    Provide funders with impact reports and updates to ensure continued engagement and support.

    Administrative Tasks:

    Maintain organized records of funding opportunities, submissions, and outcomes.

    Track deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Community and Event Participation:

    Participate in community events and initiatives to raise awareness of TGCN’s mission.

    Collaborate with other TGCN volunteers to create innovative fundraising campaigns and events:

    Qualifications:

    Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field, with a successful track record of securing funding preferred.

    Strong understanding of nonprofit funding language and financial needs.

    Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

    Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, donors, and partners.

    Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.

    Comfortable attending meetings and representing TGCN in professional settings.
