Paws with a Purpose: Volunteer with Your Dog to bring joy and comfort!

NorthStar Home Hospice is locally owned and operated, serving the Greater Cincinnati area. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care that honors the dignity and wishes of our patients and their families.

We are looking for volunteer pet therapy teams to visit our patients living in their own homes and in long-term care facilities. Visits from dogs and their human counterparts can lift hospice patients' spirits, be a calming presence, and make them smile at a time when they need it most.

If you're already a certified/registered pet therapy team we want to hear from you now! If your dog is not certified/registered yet, check out one of the organizations below for details how to make it happen:

We provide the human member of the team with ongoing support, comprehensive volunteer orientation/training, and screenings at no cost to you. Once you complete your orientation and screenings, we will strive to assign you and your dog close to home, and based on your schedule and availability.

Your dog must have:

• current license
• record of up-to-date shots
• registration/certification through Pet Partners or Therapy Dogs International.
