    Description

Dogs on Deployment has been featured on Good Morning America, in People Magazine, on Fox and Friends, and across national media, and we are ready to be back in the spotlight. We are looking for a Public Relations Team Leader to own our media strategy: building relationships with local and national outlets and getting our stories, military families, reunions, and volunteers who open their homes, in front of the public.

    What you will do:

    • Own our public relations strategy and lead our media outreach efforts
    • Build and maintain relationships with local and national journalists, editors, and producers
    • Pitch our stories and secure coverage in print, broadcast, digital, and radio
    • Write and distribute press releases, and prepare our team and leadership for media opportunities
    • Pursue awards and recognition opportunities that raise our profile
    • Run the team's regular meeting, set priorities with our President, and grow your team through our Volunteer Coordinator

Who thrives in this role: someone with real public relations, media, or communications experience who knows how to frame a story an editor wants and has the confidence to build press relationships. We have the stories that move people; you bring the strategy and the connections to get them told. If landing our next national feature genuinely excites you, this is your role.

Dogs on Deployment is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 by two military pilots. Through our Hero Pet Boarding Network and financial assistance programs, we make sure no service member ever has to choose between their duty and their pet. You do not need a military background to serve. Our volunteers work in supportive teams with a regular meeting rhythm, real ownership, and a mission you can feel.
