Fundraising & Development Assistant

Description

The Fundraising & Development Assistant for Love Your Texture (LYT) drives financial sustainability and growth by developing and executing strategies to secure individual donations, corporate sponsorships, and community support. This role identifies funding opportunities, builds relationships with donors and partners, and creates campaigns that connect supporters to LYT's mission of empowering foster, adopted, and transitioning youth through culturally responsive hair and skin care services, education, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify funding opportunities including individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, community grants, and faith-based giving programs aligned with LYT's mission.
• Assist with the development and management of new/current fundraising campaigns for special initiatives such as annual giving drives, program sponsorships, event fundraisers, and end-of-year appeals.
• Assist with the creation of compelling fundraising materials including donation appeal letters, email campaigns, social media content, and donor impact stories that communicate LYT's value and outcomes.
• Assist with the building and maintaining of relationships with current and prospective donors through personalized outreach, thank-you communications, updates on program impact, and stewardship activities.
• Collaborate with the Social Media Marketing Team, Admin, and Fundraising team to promote giving opportunities across digital platforms and community channels.
• Assist with tracking and managing donor information, contribution records, and campaign performance using CRM tools or spreadsheets to ensure accurate reporting and follow-up.
• Assist with planning and supporting fundraising events including virtual giving campaigns, community partnership events, sponsor appreciation gatherings, and peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives.
• Prepare reports and presentations on fundraising progress, donor engagement metrics, and campaign outcomes for leadership and board review.
• Assist with identifying and pursuing corporate partnership opportunities including in-kind donations, sponsorships, employee giving programs, and cause marketing collaborations.
• Stay informed about fundraising trends, best practices in nonprofit development, donor engagement strategies, and compliance requirements to strengthen LYT's fundraising capacity.
• Work closely with program staff to gather success stories, testimonials, program data, and impact metrics that can be shared with donors and used in campaigns.
• Represent LYT's community-centered values in all donor communications and relationship-building activities.
