The Teach Students Money Expo program offers an interactive and practical approach to teaching students about real-world financial skills. Through a simulated city called EightVille, students will discover how to manage money, make wise financial decisions, and live responsibly in Central Florida.
One of the program's central focuses is behavioral economics, which challenges students to prioritize their needs versus wants and determine their desired living standards. This approach encourages students to consider their spending choices and manage their resources effectively and carefully. The program includes 20 storefronts representing typical monthly expenses such as housing, utilities, groceries, insurance, childcare, and transportation to enhance their knowledge further. By visiting these storefronts and making purchases, students will learn about the various costs associated with daily living and how to budget effectively. Volunteers run this interactive simulation, guiding students to balance their budgets and make wise financial decisions. No background experience needed.
