Board Member & Board Secretary (Volunteer, Virtual) – CureGRIN Foundation
Details
Description
Join the CureGRIN Foundation Board of Directors and help shape research, advocacy, and support for people living with GRI Disorders. Board service is virtual, and we welcome applicants from any region.
About CureGRIN
Founded by parents in 2019, CureGRIN brings together families, scientists, and medical professionals to drive the global fight for treatments and cures for everyone living with GRIA, GRID, GRIK and GRIN Disorders. Our 2026–2030 strategic plan sets a distinct roadmap for each disorder. Gene-specific advisory groups identify the most critical gaps to clinical trial readiness, and three of the plan’s five pillars are dedicated to advancing science and research.
The role
We’re looking for people who bring new perspectives, professional expertise, and strategic leadership. You don’t need a personal connection to GRI Disorders. We welcome anyone who wants to put their skills toward a meaningful cause.
As a board member, you will:
- Help guide organizational strategy, priorities, and long-term goals
- Provide independent oversight of performance, finances, executive leadership, and stewardship of resources
- Support fundraising, partnerships, and community outreach
- Serve as an advocate and ambassador for CureGRIN
- Prepare for and take part in board decisions and committee work
Now recruiting: Board Secretary
We especially need a new Board Secretary. This officer keeps accurate board minutes and official records, supports governance processes, and makes sure decisions are documented and followed up. Prior secretary experience is welcome but not required. If you have strong organizational and communication skills, we’d love to hear from you.
Time commitment
- 6–8 virtual board meetings a year, 1.5–2 hours each
- At least one committee, which generally meets monthly
- Time to review materials and help with fundraising and organizational initiatives
- A personally meaningful annual contribution and/or participation in fundraising activities
Who should apply
Professionals with relevant experience, rare disease advocates, and parents and family members from diverse backgrounds and regions. We especially encourage applicants with expertise in philanthropy, finance, governance, biotechnology, clinical research, strategic planning, or global advocacy.
Apply by November 13, 2026. Interested in helping move our mission forward? Apply through Idealist — we’d love to hear from you.
