    Description

Volunteer - Mentor to Clients in Poverty

    About Partners for Change

Partners for Change (PFC) Tri-Valley is a community-based organization that empowers individuals and families to move from poverty toward self-sufficiency through education, mentorship, and intentional relationships that bridge socioeconomic lines.

Participants attend classes weekly on life-skills, goal setting and empowerment while working with volunteer mentors who provide encouragement, accountability, guidance, and connection to community resources. Participants identify and work toward meaningful goals in areas such as housing, employment, education and financial stability.

PFC believes there is dignity and growth in participants accomplishing goals through their own effort and empowerment.

    Mentor Profile

A PFC mentor is a compassionate, dependable, relationship-oriented volunteer who walks alongside participants as they pursue stability, independence, and long-term life goals.

Mentors are not “rescuers” or problem-solvers who take over challenges for participants. Instead, they serve as trusted guides who empower participants to discover solutions, develop confidence, and build sustainable support systems.

Mentors play a vital role in helping participants build confidence, hope, connection, and a pathway toward lasting self-sufficiency
