Special Olympics North Carolina - Buncombe County is seeking passionate volunteers to serve on our committees and help create meaningful, inclusive opportunities for athletes across the state. Whether you enjoy planning events, telling stories, supporting wellness, or leading volunteers, your time and talents can make a lasting impact.

SONC - Buncombe County currently does not have a local committee, but looking to begin building with the following roles:

• Fundraising Committee Members
  • Help support fundraising events and initiatives that provide resources for athletes and programs.
• Social Media Photographer for Events
  • Capture event photos to highlight athletes, volunteers, and community impact for social media and marketing use.
• Videographer for Events
  • Record and create engaging video content to support storytelling, outreach, and social media efforts.
• Volunteers Committee Leader
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, communication, and engagement across programs and events.
• Health and Wellness Committee Members
  • Support initiatives that promote athlete health, wellness, and inclusive healthy lifestyles.
