    Description

    Who We Are:

Gideon's Army is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking. We focus on the "intervention" side of anti-trafficking work by offering logistical assistance to victims of sexual exploitation. We do this by sending our team of trained professionals to help craft and carry out an "exit plan" for those needing a way out of their situation. But without a team of Outreach volunteers, we cannot refer these vulnerable individuals to proper care services.

    Outreach Role Overview:

We are seeking a Volunteer Outreach Partner to help identify, interact with, and build trusted relationships with those needing assistance. This role focuses on conducting local, physical outreach efforts.

    What You'll Do:

    • Conduct community-based outreach in public environments (streets, shelters, transit areas, or service hubs)
    • Engage individuals respectfully and build connections, in a trauma-informed manner
    • Help coordinate aftercare referral and logistical services in conjunction with Gideon's Army personnel
    • Follow strict protocols for safety, legality, confidentiality, and survivor autonomy

    Ideal Volunteer Profile:

    • Comfortable speaking with strangers in high-risk environments
    • Calm, observant, patient, and emotionally grounded
    • Able to follow protocols and communicate effectively with leadership
    • (Preferred) Background in outreach, social work, advocacy, crisis response, or aftercare
    • Must be able to respect boundaries

    Training & Requirements:

    • Required onboarding and outreach safety training
    • Signed volunteer agreement and NDAs
    • Checkr background screening
    • Adherence to all safety, consent, and reporting procedures

    What You'll Gain:

    • Hands-on humanitarian outreach experience
    • Training in trauma-informed care and communication
    • Meaningful impact directly helping vulnerable populations
    • Documentation of formal volunteer service upon request

If you are tired of just being "aware" of the problem, then this role is for YOU!

DISCLAIMER: This role involves humanitarian outreach and voluntary referrals only. Volunteers do not conduct investigations, enforcement actions, or law-enforcement activities. This is an unpaid, at-will, volunteer position.
