    Description

    Company Description

The Center for Free, Fair, and Accountable Democracy (CFFAD) is a small 501(c)(3) volunteer organization providing civic content for American adults. We focus on promoting accountable representation combined with civil liberties and rights. To do that, we create relevant and practical materials for civic education. All of our short courses have been reviewed by experts on the right and left. In addition, we conduct and share research on a particular audience of adults, on the left and right, who are ambivalent about the merits of democracy relative to autocracy.

    Role Description

We are seeking a Volunteer Market Researcher who can help us research a new audience: American adults, on the left and the right, who are ambivalent between autocratic forms of government and democracy. We want to know how to easily identify them, how to reach them, how to help them reject autocracy, and how to encourage them to actively support and improve our democracy - regardless of their ideology.

Ideal for people who are retired or between jobs and want to keep their skills sharp.

We only need 5 hours a week, although you are welcome to contribute more! Location is flexible, although easy access to the Washington, DC area would facilitate in-person consultations.

You will be responsible for conducting market analysis, sourcing and interpreting data, performing quantitative and qualitative research, and preparing detailed reports with actionable insights. The role also involves collaborating with the team to communicate findings and support strategic planning processes.

    Qualifications

Proficiency in Market Research, or Market Analysis, Social Marketing, or Social & Behavioral Change, to identify and understand a specific audience, optimize outreach and messaging strategies, and evaluate opportunities.

Experience in Quantitative and Qualitative Research methods and tools, with the ability to gather, analyze, and validate data effectively.

Experience with designing and conducting interviews, focus groups, and surveys - along with the statistical tools needed to analyze the results.

Bachelor’s degree or coursework in Social Marketing, Market Research, Economics, Business, or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience, is advantageous.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to present findings clearly and concisely.

Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a mixed team of conservatives, independents, and progressives.
