    Description

    Organization: Mentor A Promise (MAP)

    Location: Remote with potential NYC-based collaboration

    Type: Volunteer

    Role Overview: The Student and Family Outreach Coordinator will help MAP engage students,

    families, schools, shelters, and community organizations in a respectful, trauma-informed, and

    dignity-centered manner. This role will support survey participation, gather insight into student

    and family needs, and help ensure that outreach efforts reflect MAP’s values of compassion,

    empowerment, integrity, and community partnership. The coordinator will serve as a bridge

    between the research team and the people most affected by housing instability.

    Key Responsibilities: Support outreach to students, families, schools, shelters, and community

    partners; assist with explaining the purpose of surveys and research activities; encourage

    participation in a respectful and voluntary manner; document common academic, emotional, and

    housing-related needs; maintain communication logs; and share outreach insights with the

    Project Director and Research Coordinator.

    Qualifications: Experience in community outreach, youth services, education, family support,

    case management, social services, or nonprofit programming; strong interpersonal and

    communication skills; cultural sensitivity; ability to engage vulnerable populations respectfully and

    confidentially; commitment to youth-centered and trauma-informed work.

    students and families experiencing housing instability.
