QuickBooks Pro needed - Assist our Board Treasurer

Help a growing nonprofit keep its finances accurate, organized, and understandable.

Our Safe Space US is looking for an experienced QuickBooks volunteer to work alongside our Treasurer, providing support as needed.

We need an experienced and knowledgeable QuickBooks EXPERT who can easily jump in, review our records, troubleshoot, and generate the reports our Board needs to make sound decisions.

Our Safe Space US is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Tucson, Arizona. We provide free educational, personal growth, creative, and community-building programs designed to help people learn, connect, and thrive.

Our organization is growing, and so are the financial responsibilities that come with it. Clear and accurate records help us remain accountable to our donors, grant funders, Board, and community.

What You’ll Help With

Depending on our needs, you may:

• Review and organize transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Help us catch up when needed
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Review transaction categories and correct errors
• Identify missing, duplicated, or incorrectly entered information
• Generate profit and loss, balance sheet, and other financial reports
• Create reports for Board meetings, grants, and organizational planning
• Help improve our QuickBooks procedures and recordkeeping practices
• Answer occasional QuickBooks questions from our Treasurer
• Help ensure our records are clean and ready for year-end reporting

Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal volunteer:

• Has substantial, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
• Understands bookkeeping and basic nonprofit accounting practices
• Can reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies
• Knows how to customize and explain financial reports
• Is accurate, dependable, and highly detail-oriented
• Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
• Is comfortable handling confidential financial information
• Can explain QuickBooks without making the rest of us feel like we need an accounting degree

Experience working with nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred. Experience with grant reporting, restricted funds, or nonprofit year-end preparation would be especially helpful.

Time Commitment

This is a flexible role - we are a small nonprofit that needs to keep current and organized. The work can be completed remotely, with communication by email or Zoom. We are based in Tucson, Arizona and operate on Arizona MST.
