    Description

At NW Furniture Bank, we help families make a house a home because we believe a furnished home is more than four walls—it’s a foundation of hope, dignity, and stability. When families walk through our doors, they’re stepping into a fresh start. As a Volunteer Shopper, you’ll have the joy of walking alongside them, helping them choose the furniture and essentials that transform empty rooms into welcoming spaces.

Families come to us by referral from more than 200 partner agencies, and the items they choose have stories of their own. Furniture and housewares are donated by local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and neighbors in our community. Each year, NW Furniture Bank diverts more than 3 million pounds of furniture from the landfill—giving every couch, bed, and dish a new life in the home of someone rebuilding theirs.

You don’t need special skills—just compassion and a willingness to serve. Shoppers work in pairs on our showroom floor, guiding families through this unique experience where sustainability meets dignity. Every smile you’ll see is proof of the impact.

    What to Expect:

    • Shifts: 10:00am – 1:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday
    • Weekly or bi-weekly commitment preferred
    • Begin with a short orientation and tour
    • All you need is a caring heart and a smile

When you volunteer, you join a family of 500+ caring people who give over 10,000 hours each year to make sure no child sleeps on the floor, no parent sits in an empty room, and no family feels forgotten.

    • Together, we aren’t just moving furniture—we’re restoring hope, dignity, and stability.
