    Job Title: Development Director

    Department: Development

    Reports to: Executive Director - Marcus Alston

    Hours: 10-15 hours per month

    I. Summary:

    AFA’s Development Director oversees our grants and fundraising priorities. This involves overseeing budgetary allocations, optimizing resource utilization, and fostering financial sustainability. The director aims to implement sound financial practices, secure funding sources, and contribute to the fiscal health of programs and projects dedicated to advancing mental well-being within the sports industry.

    II. Goal:

    The goal for the Development Director is to oversee all fundraising initiatives to help our organization grow so that we can serve more student-athletes struggling with mental health.

    III. Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Reports to the Executive Director
    • Attends all weekly team meetings
    • Collaborates with Executive Director on organizing all aspects of AFA’s fundraising plans and goals
    • Research and identify potential donors and sponsors and implement strategies to foster positive relationships
    • Identifies grant opportunities
    • Writes grants, as needed
    • Solicits donations and sponsorships
    • Creates monthly reports for Directors meetings
    • Collaborates with Social Media team on developing fundraising campaigns on our social pages

    IV. Required Skills:

    • Proficiency in Google Workspace
    • Excellent communication

    • 5+ years of Nonprofit Budgeting
    • 5+ years of Fundraising Campaigns
    • 5 + years of Donor Engagement
    • 5+ years of Donor Solicitation
    • 5+ years of Community Outreach
    • 5+ years of Grant Writing
