Description
Become a Non-Medical Hospice Direct Care Volunteer
Are you someone who enjoys connecting with others and making a difference? Our Non-Medical Hospice Direct Care Volunteers offer comfort and companionship to patients living with a terminal illness, as well as support to their families and caregivers.
No medical experience is needed. Volunteers do not provide any medical or personal care—this means no bathing, lifting, bathroom assistance, or giving medications. Instead, your presence and kindness are what matter most.
As a Direct Care Volunteer, you might:
- Spend time with patients through conversation and companionship
- Offer emotional support to families and caregivers
- Read aloud to patients or share stories
- Play games or do puzzles together
- Write letters or help patients express their thoughts
- Help with light household tasks like watering plants, walking pets, washing dishes, or taking out the trash
You choose your schedule! We ask for about 2 hours per visit, but your time and heart can make a lasting impact.
