    Description

    IT & Operations Specialist Volunteer

    Are you passionate about technology and drawn to mission-driven work? This Girls Story is seeking a volunteer IT & Operations Specialist to support both our hybrid events and our day-to-day systems. This role blends hands-on event support with behind-the-scenes research and implementation of tools that help our organization run efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Hybrid Event Support (Local – DuPage County, IL required)

    • Set up and manage Zoom or similar platforms for hybrid events
    • Connect and configure equipment to support two-way communication between in-person and virtual participants
    • Provide real-time technical support during events
    • Troubleshoot issues with virtual platforms or physical equipment
    • Collaborate with the event team to align technology with event flow and logistics
    • Advise on and help plan technical needs for future events

    Operations & Systems Support (Remote-friendly)

    • Research tools and platforms to support internal operations (e.g., project management, communications, file organization, CRM, email marketing)
    • Compare options, including features, usability, and pricing
    • Provide clear recommendations for organizational use
    • Set up and organize selected systems and accounts upon approval
    • Help document basic processes or guidelines for team use
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency

    Qualifications:

    • Experience supporting hybrid or virtual events (Zoom or similar platforms)
    • Strong understanding of basic event tech setup (audio/visual, connectivity, platform management)
    • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in real time
    • Experience researching or implementing digital tools and systems
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
    • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical team members

    Location Requirement:

    • Hybrid event support requires in-person availability in DuPage County, IL
    • Operations and systems work may be completed remotely
