About the Pet Cancer Foundation
The Pet Cancer Foundation’s vision is to increase the life expectancy and improve the quality of life of pets diagnosed with cancer. Estimates currently suggest that approximately 12M dogs and cats are developing cancer every year, which is roughly 6x the number of humans getting cancer yearly within North America.
As our volunteer organization scales and our website content becomes a primary resource for pet families, our editorial department requires experienced people-centric project managers to keep production moving through our pipeline to completion. That is where and how you can help us.
About the Position
The Volunteer Project Manager is a dynamic opportunity to guide and support a team in developing impactful content for our website. This position is ideal for an organized, collaborative individual, passionate about coordinating editorial processes, while ensuring our rigid processes for quality are maintained. You’ll work closely with our team leaders, research assistants, writers, editors, and subject matter experts to bring compelling resources to life. As a volunteer, you’ll play a critical role in delivering content that supports and informs our audience throughout their pet health and cancer journeys.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate content development workflows, ensuring timely completion of tasks for assigned topics.
- Facilitate communication and workflow between team members, including team leaders, research assistants, writers, editors, various subject matter experts, and stakeholders to maintain project alignment.
- Maintain weekly communication with all team members to be well-informed of all team roadblocks and success.
- Monitor progress, track deadlines, and provide updates to leadership
- Ensure content goes through all quality assurance steps as it travels through the process to meet PCF’s quality standards.
- Organize and maintain project documentation, including the team google drive, content trackers/calendars and assignments to maintain maximum file security.
About You:
You are a dynamic individual who thrives in challenging environments. Your strength lies in your ability to manage remote projects, ensuring they progress seamlessly. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, you anticipate challenges and streamline processes to ensure efficiency. Your excellent communication skills allow you to liaise effectively with various stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment. You have:
- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of project management experience with demonstrated success in leading and managing projects from initiation to completion.
- Demonstrated drive for results and ownership in addressing business needs.
- Proven ability to lead and work effectively in challenging environments.
- Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities.
- Interpersonal skills to influence and initiate appropriate change and facilitate and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset but not required.

- Expectations regarding a time commitment are in the range of 6-8 hours per week on average and daily email check-in/follow-up is required as part of this time.
