    Description

    Group Bicycle Ride Assistant

    Do you love to bike, meet new people and explore our City? Join the Indianapolis Cultural Trail on fun group bike rides and tours as a volunteer ride assistant! Ride assistants help ensure that our group rides and tours along the Cultural Trail and adjoining trail network are both safe and enjoyable for all participants.

    Sample of Ride Sweeper Responsibilities:

    • Assist ride leader with any necessary set-up and/or clean-up
    • Help with sign-ins, waivers, or tracking attendance
    • Learn bike route from ride leader
    • Ride at the back of the group to make sure no rider is left behind
    • Provide ride instructions and route directions to riders when needed, particularly at intersections or when separated from the group
    • Provide basic assistance to riders if needed (ex. bike fit, maintenance, band-aid)
    • Communicate any issues with ride leader
    • Answer simple questions about the Cultural Trail, Pacers Bikeshare, and ride
    • Facilitate any program participant feedback and/or surveys
    • Take photos and/or videos of ride
    • If event of emergency, call 911
