Fundraising Advisor - Board of Director

ABOUT THE ROLE

The SpreadYourHeart Organization, Inc. (SYH) is seeking a visionary, results-driven, and influential Fundraising Advisor to join our Board of Directors.

As the executive champion of financial sustainability and donor stewardship, the Fundraising Advisor works directly with Executive Director and Board of Directors to lead SYH’s overarching resource development strategy. This role is pivotal in funding our core community pillars—including homelessness relief, environmental sustainability, mental health access, and creative empowerment.

If you are an experienced development executive, non-profit fundraiser, or business leader passionate about building sustainable capital pipelines for community impact, this governance role offers high visibility and direct institutional influence.

GOVERNANCE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and oversee SYH’s annual master development plan, encompassing corporate sponsorships, major donor drives, grant pipelines, grassroots campaigns, and gala fundraising.
• Prepare and present quarterly fundraising performance reports, donor pipeline updates, and revenue projections during mandatory quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
• Cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, corporate CSR leads, and institutional sponsors.
• Drive corporate sponsorship packages for signature events and community fundraising activations.
• Oversee donor recognition programs, major donor appreciation workflows, and annual contribution reporting to ensure long-term donor retention.

COMMITMENTS & REQUIREMENTS

• Time Commitment: Average of 5 hours per month (combining committee leadership, quarterly meetings, and high-level donor communications). Active participation in quarterly board meetings and occasional special executive calls.
• Annual/monthly board contribution/dues expectation of $50/month.
• Uphold legal, ethical, and fiduciary responsibilities to protect SYH’s 501(c)(3) non-profit status and community mission.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience in non-profit fundraising, development, corporate partnership sales, major gift solicitation, or executive board leadership (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to set and achieve multi-year revenue goals across diverse funding channels (grants, individual givers, corporate partners, and events).
• Active professional or philanthropic network with the confidence to open doors and pitch prospective donors and corporate sponsors.
• Exceptional oral, written, and board presentation skills.
